It doesn’t have to make sense to have an impact
It is tempting to try so, so hard to explain things in “just the right way” to get others to understand us and our intent. But life isn’t an unfun choice-based video game where only one path gets an interesting result!
Your art, your words, your trauma, don’t have to make perfect sense to have an impact.
@mightypigeon_art (an artist I share with everyone I’ve met, ever, because she’s the best) has a wonderful print which says “Your voice doesn’t have to be loud to be heard”.
Over the past few years I’ve learned that’s especially true when you surround yourself with people who love you and who want to listen, want to understand, want to support you.
When others see what you share through the context of the person they know you to be, you can be braver.
So take up space! Say the thing! Love without hesitation!
And be loved in return by yourself and the people you trust to receive your honest self.
